Jess
Tabak

Jess Tabak is an award-winning writer and educator who centers writing as a means of healing and self-discovery. Her writing combines memoir, cultural analysis, and research to explore illness, trauma, and memory. She won the 2025 Eunice Williams Nonfiction Prize, was a finalist for the CRAFT 2024 Memoir Excerpt & Essay Contest, and is a 2026 Pushcart Prize nominee. She teaches writing at College Unbound, where she received the 2025 Faculty Unbound Award for teaching excellence, and she leads writing workshops for community groups in the greater Providence area. She holds a Ph.D. in English from Brown and a Master of Arts in Teaching from American University.

She’s an occasional artist, proud dog parent, and caretaker to a vivid menagerie of plants.
